Pro Bono Law Saskatchewan Inc (PBLS) is a non-profit corporation that was formed in early 2008 at the initiative of the Law Society of Saskatchewan, following recommendations made in the provincial Access to Justice Task Force Report on Self-Represented Litigants.

PBLS operations focus on the following areas:

  • developing opportunities for lawyers to engage in organized pro bono programs;
  • improving delivery of pro bono legal services by coordinating and integrating existing pro bono programs and developing best practices;
  • ensuring province-wide access to high-quality pro bono legal services to persons of limited means;
  • enhancing the growth of a pro bono culture within the Saskatchewan bar by raising awareness among lawyers of the need for pro bono services and the benefits of providing the same;
  • supporting the work of pro bono lawyers through resources designed to facilitate pro bono work; and
  • raising awareness of the availability of pro bono legal services for qualifying individuals among the general public thereby enhancing the reputation of the legal profession.
Pro Bono Law Saskatchewan and the programs we provide are a work-in-progress. Check back often for new developments and programs!
