Solicitor

The Solicitor Program consists of a roster of lawyers who agree to provide legal services to charitable and non-profit community organizations of limited means. PBLS facilitates matching lawyers and law students through the Pro Bono Students Canada program to organizations in need of legal services.

Lawyers may provide legal advice and assistance to community organizations in all areas of non-profit law, including incorporation and by-laws, registrations for charitable status, employment matters, contracts and lease agreements. Through the Public Legal Education Association of Saskatchewan, lawyers may also conduct seminars or information sessions on topics such as board of directors' liability, privacy and board governance. Law students perform research and preparatory work under the supervision of practicing lawyers.
